Color Control GX: Significant firmware release v1.16

With the advent of this significant firmware release, it seems safe to say that v1.16 heralds a new era in the ever increasing capabilities of the CCGX and the VRM portal. v1.16 for the Color Control GX (CCGX) went live earlier today.

And there is even more to come. In fact some of you may have had a glimpse of the devices, apps and Assistants in development, if you were at METS. More of that in a future blog. For now though, let’s look at this new CCGX firmware release.

VRM App: Bugfix updates for iOS and Android

The updated Victron Remote Management (VRM) app (v2.1.2) for Android devices and phones and iPads and iPhones, has now been released for publication. This is a bugfix update.

It will be available in iTunes and on Google Play in the coming hours, subject to your time zone. Android versions may take a little longer to become available than iOS. Check back later if you see v2.1.1 and/or October 2014.

What’s New in v2.1.2

  • Fixed the bug where the spinner/egg-timer would not disappear when trying to open the VRM website from within the app
  • Changed Historic data to Historical data so now grammatically correct
  • Changed the color of the active page of the page indicator in the site widgets to blue, so it is the same as on Android
  • Time to go and State of charge are now hidden if they are not available

VRM Portal updates: MPPT state chart and more…

As most of you may be aware, the VRM Portal is updated by a process of continuous integration. If you don’t know what that is, here is an explanation in an earlier blog post: VRM Portal enhancements: Continuous Integration

What’s new?

MPPT state

As you can see in the headline image above there is now an MPPT state chart in the ‘Advanced’ tab, assuming you have set this up as an ‘Active advanced widget’ in ‘Settings –> Advanced tab setup’, as shown below.

Setting up the widgets, you wish to see in the ‘Advanced’ tab screen, is now easily achieved by dragging the ones you choose to be active to the left and to the right if you wish to delete an active widget. Don’t forget to click ‘Save all settings’ when done. Note that widgets can also be dragged up and down the list, so the ‘Advanced’ tab screen displays your graphs and information in the order you choose.
