Intersolar: New MPPT Solar Charge Controllers on show

It has been a busy week at Intersolar Europe. In fact word from Matthijs, at the show in Munich, tells me there have been more customers visiting the stand than the the expanded sales team at the show could handle! In Matthijs’s words: ‘a super success’. The headline image shows the new stand, which has also gone down very well.

Clearly a great success for all concerned.

Part of that is no doubt down to the new MPPTs on show. These will shortly be detailed in an official press release, but for now here is the heads up for our dealers and distributors.

There are four new models of the ultra-fast BlueSolar charge controller (MPPT) range. The series now comprises eight models, ranging from the BlueSolar MPPT 75/15 up to the new BlueSolar MPPT 150/85.

The new models are the BlueSolar MPPT 100/30, BlueSolar MPPT 100/50, BlueSolar MPPT 150/35 and BlueSolar MPPT 150/85.

I think it is also worth pointing out why the MPPT range stands out from the competition. BlueSolar MPPTs (like other major manufacturers) allow solar modules to be placed in series as well as parallel to increase input power; Victron MPPTs are unique in having solar power limiting built in, which ensures the output power of a system will never exceed the maximum rating of the controller. This special feature of the Victron BlueSolar MPPT range allows customers to connect a surplus of nameplate solar power. Most of the details of the new models in the expanded range, are now on the Victron website.

Don’t forget Victron also supply an essential spreadsheet tool to ensure the best possible choice of controller. This is available and explained in the blog post ‘Matching solar modules to MPPT charge controllers’.

This tool assists in purchasing the best fit controller for the customer, whether that is to save on cost or to use a larger controller from the outset, if planning for the future expansion of an installation. Bob Hopman, who made this sheet for PV sizing calculations, continually updates it and has now included the latest models.

We hope Victron distributors and dealers have as much success with the enhanced range, as Matthijs and team have had at the show.
