Previously we’ve reported on the SmartSolar MPPT 250/100 & 250/85. Now we can add the following models, also with Bluetooth Smart built-in:
- SmartSolar MPPT 100/30 – 12 / 24 Volt (awaiting stock)
- SmartSolar MPPT 100/50 – 12 / 24 Volt (currently in stock)
- SmartSolar MPPT 150/35 – 12 / 24 / 36 / 48 Volt (currently in stock)
As Bluetooth Smart is built-in there’s no need for a VE.Direct to USB interface or VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle to use the free VictronConnect software or app, as you would need to do with the standard MPPTs.
Cables and dongles aside now is certainly the time to go Bluetooth Smart built-in – especially with the release this week of VictronConnect v3.1 which has a demo mode, can save, share & load files and more.
See what VictronConnect v3.1 can do here.
Pending additional certification
Whilst the standard BlueSolar MPPTs have recently been awarded UL 1741 and CSA C22.2 compliance the SmartSolar models are expected to be certified before the year end also.
If you are not familiar with Victron Energy’s range of SmartSolar MPPTs this is what they do.
These are ultra-fast, Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT), solar charge controllers with built-in Bluetooth and by utilising the free VictronConnect app many parameters can be viewed and set, such as battery voltage, solar history, load output, flexible battery charge algorithms plus day/night timing and light dimming options. These advanced MPPTs also include Advanced Maximum Power Point Detection in case of partial shading conditions.
If you are not familiar with choosing the correct MPPT charge controller/s and matching to your solar panel/s then do read Bob Hopman’s informative blog, which includes a handy spreadsheet to help you get it all spot on.
Get smart with SmartSolar!
