Margreet Leeftink

I have been living in Australia for 18 years now. I live near Parramatta together with my husband and our dog. I thoroughly enjoy Australia, its nature, the climate and the wide open spaces, however I do miss cold Christmases, ice skating and eating Dutch kroketten – so it is always nice to be in The Netherlands every now and then.

I originally started my career at Victron in the early 1990s working as a service engineer for the service department together with Jan and Jaggat. After a few years I changed roles and moved into purchasing, product administration and manual writing.

In the late 1990s I quit my job at Victron to emigrate to Australia, however in the mid 2000s my colleague Jan contacted me and convinced me to work for Victron once again, but this time as a Sales Manager. I still remember telling him: “I am technical; I am not a sales person!”. But over time I have found that being technical has greatly helped me in my role as Sales Manager. This year will be my 10th anniversary.

I am an active person and rarely sit still. I play competitive hockey; I am goalkeeper for a masters team. I like nature, gardening and camping. I have many hobbies like spinning wool, weaving and quilting. But my main passion is making miniature furniture and accessories for my self-build dollhouse.

And yes, my dollhouse does have electric lighting – it’s only the mini solar panels and home battery storage system that are missing!
