The first version, <a href=\"http:\/\/updates.victronenergy.com\/feeds\/ve-power-setup\/windows\/VEPowerSetupInstaller.exe\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">available for download here<\/a>, can update firmware for Victron products featuring a VE.Direct or VE.Can port. Products update-able with a VE.Direct port are:<!--more--><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/solar-charge-controllers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BlueSolar Chargers 70\/15, 75\/15, 75\/50<\/a><\/li>\n<li>the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/battery-monitors\/bmv-700\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BMV-700 series<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Products with a VE.Can are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/solar-charge-controllers\/smartsolar-250-85-250-100\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BlueSolar charger MPPT 150\/70<\/a><\/li>\n<li>the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/battery-monitors\/lynx-shunt-ve-can\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Lynx Shunt VE.Can<\/a><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\">all four <\/span><a style=\"line-height: 1.5em\" href=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/chargers\/skylla-i\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Skylla-i battery chargers<\/a><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em\">all our different <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/accessories\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">VE.Can and NMEA2000 interfaces<\/a><\/li>\n<li>the Ion Control display<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>This makes the previous tools, vup.exe and dup.exe, redundant and they will be removed from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/support-and-downloads\/software\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Software and downloads page<\/a> on our website. No more little black nostalgic DOS windows when updating a Victron VE.Direct and VE.Can product! Instead a very simple to use and fast program.<\/p>\n<p>The next small updates of VE Power Setup will include more product specific instructions. For example when updating a MPPT 75\/50 it needs to be powered from its PV power connections.<\/p>\n<p>After that we will bring out a major update, which will add configuration for all of our small MPPTs. You can then change charge parameters such as the absorption voltage and more. Note that it is already possible to change those parameters with a small command line tool, called mpptprefs. Contact your Victron representative to get mpptprefs and its instructions.<\/p>\n<p>In the long run we want to do much more with VE Power Setup. For example, bringing out versions for Linux and Apple OS X. Another very useful feature will be the option to configure and update firmware remotely: you are behind your desk, on a laptop connected to the internet, and can update an MPPT solar charger on the other side of the world, through a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/panel-systems-remote-monitoring\/colorcontrol\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Color Control GX<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Wishing everybody a good weekend!<\/p>\n<p>Matthijs<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A couple of months ago, we\u00a0 started on something entirely new: VE Power Setup.
