This is an anechoic chamber &#8211; similar to that which Victron Energy have now built.<\/p>\n<h3>Where is it and what does it do?<\/h3>\n<p>The new facility is at Victron&#8217;s Groningen premises. It is a fully enclosed <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Faraday_cage\" target=\"_blank\">Faraday cage<\/a> with absorbing tiles all around. A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/inverters-chargers\/quattro\" target=\"_blank\">Victron Energy Quattro inverter\/charger<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/batteries\/lithium-battery-12-8v\" target=\"_blank\">Victron Lithium batteries<\/a> are shown in the new facility below.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>N.B. The EMC chamber is calibrated and certified so that tests performed there can be used for Victron product development &#8211; and it is now almost fully commissioned and ready for use.<\/p>\n<p>This facility is a specific type of anechoic chamber, referred to as semi-anechoic. You can read more detail about these types of chambers and how they relate to radio frequency (RF) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) testing <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Anechoic_chamber#Semi-anechoic_chambers\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>\u00a0EMC chamber construction<\/h3>\n<p>The images below show the Groningen
