They specialize in innovative solar engineering systems design and operate across a range of sectors.\u00a0Sunwind Design address solutions in areas such as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Isolated sites (shelters, mountain huts , radio communication)<\/li>\n<li>Electric mobility (terminals and charging stations)<\/li>\n<li>Solar lighting (low consumption technology, autonomy)<\/li>\n<li>Energy storage management (self- consumption, smart grid technologies)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Victron Energy equipment<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A recent design of theirs that caught my eye is their Kwub range of autonomous solar charging stations. Not only is the design elegant and compact, it is ideal for charging electric bicycles in out of the way places and thereby enhancing access to such areas. Shown below are the internals of the design:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/KWUB.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><div class=\"full-size-image container\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3086\" src=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/KWUB.jpg\" alt=\"KWUB autonomous solar charger\" width=\"730\" height=\"548\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2015\/04\/KWUB.jpg 730w, https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2015\/04\/KWUB-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 730px) 100vw, 730px\" \/><\/div><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This model consists of:<\/p>\n<p>2 x <a href=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/batteries\/lithium-battery-12-8v\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">12.8V-90AH Lithium batteries<\/a><\/p>\n<p>1 x <a title=\"VE.Bus BMS\" href=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/battery-management-systems\/ve-bus-bms\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">VE.Bus BMS<\/a> (Battery Management System)<\/p>\n<p>1 x BlueSolar MPPT 70\/15 Solar charge controller (<a title=\"BlueSolar MPPT 75\/15 Solar charge controller\" href=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/solar-charge-controllers\/mppt7510\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">now replaced by the 75\/15<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>1 x <a title=\"24\/350 Phoenix Inverter\" href=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/inverters\/phoenix-inverter-vedirect-250va-800va#datasheet\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">24\/350 Phoenix inverter<\/a><\/p>\n<p>1 x <a href=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/battery-monitors\/bmv-700\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BMV-700 Battery Monitor<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Two charging sockets and the BMV-700 are located on the external side of the rear facing hinged door shown above and below.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/BMV-700.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><div class=\"full-size-image container\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-3093\" src=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/BMV-700.jpg\" alt=\"BMV-700\" width=\"730\" height=\"548\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2015\/04\/BMV-700.jpg 730w, https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2015\/04\/BMV-700-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 730px) 100vw, 730px\" \/><\/div><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>E-Bikes and the great outdoors<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Making use of this technology is <a title=\"ViaVercors\" href=\"http:\/\/via.vercors.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">ViaVercors<\/a>. This assists access to the more mountainous regions in France by using E-Bikes. This is part of a comprehensive approach to sustainable development and energy efficiency research, that is common to the <a title=\"Vercors Plateau\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Maquis_du_Vercors\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Vercors Plateau<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Vercors_Regional_Natural_Park\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Regional Natural Park of Vercors<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>To facilitate the use of electrically assisted bicycles and mobility scooters in these areas the community is equipping its territory with these autonomous solar charging stations, positioned near their tourist offices.
