The time had come to rip out the ad-hoc power generation plants and replace them with state of the art installations which would provide reliable power for many years ahead. Fortunately the truck was recovered before the water level became deep enough to damage the power equipment it contained.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to the departure of these expeditions, of course, it was essential to check and then double check that all necessary tools had been included in the shipment. As part of the installation the opportunity has been taken to provide an indigenous tribe with reliable energy for the first time via a mini grid.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2023\/10\/Imagem-do-WhatsApp-de-2023-09-06-as-18.32.49_242615237.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-27303\" src=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2023\/10\/Imagem-do-WhatsApp-de-2023-09-06-as-18.32.49_242615237-1024x584.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"584\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2023\/10\/Imagem-do-WhatsApp-de-2023-09-06-as-18.32.49_242615237-1024x584.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2023\/10\/Imagem-do-WhatsApp-de-2023-09-06-as-18.32.49_242615237-750x428.jpg 750w, https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2023\/10\/Imagem-do-WhatsApp-de-2023-09-06-as-18.32.49_242615237-300x171.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2023\/10\/Imagem-do-WhatsApp-de-2023-09-06-as-18.32.49_242615237.jpg 1333w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">If stored-energy runs low, the PLC will activate the second 45kVA system, and if one of the systems should fail, that system can be by-passed altogether &#8230;or either system can run using generators, alone. The idea is to have the maximum redundancy with automatic cascading of power provision &#8211; and no need for engineering support or even for unskilled manual interaction. After all, professional help is more than 1000 difficult kilometres away!<\/p>\n<p>Pre-delivery testing to ensure perfect operation of the PLC and auto-functionality of this system was of critical importance, and was carried out at the Baratec Laboratory. \u00a0We carried the story of Argentinian-based <a href=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/2023\/10\/13\/clinic-switches-to-maximum-power\/\" target=\"_blank\">Baratec<\/a> a few weeks ago on these pages.<\/p>\n<p>Notwithstanding automation, and remote monitoring, both systems include a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/display-and-panels\/gx-touch-50\" target=\"_blank\"> GX Touch 70<\/a> touch screen device which allows instant local access to all power data &#8211; allowing users to monitor the state-of-charge, power input and loads.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2023\/10\/Imagem-do-WhatsApp-de-2023-08-17-as-16.30.06_242615232.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><div class=\"full-size-image container\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-27300\" src=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2023\/10\/Imagem-do-WhatsApp-de-2023-08-17-as-16.30.06_242615232.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"508\" height=\"299\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2023\/10\/Imagem-do-WhatsApp-de-2023-08-17-as-16.30.06_242615232.jpg 508w, https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2023\/10\/Imagem-do-WhatsApp-de-2023-08-17-as-16.30.06_242615232-300x177.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 508px) 100vw, 508px\" \/><\/div><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\">The first system takes its solar charge from six solar arrays of 10,4 kW each, which are wired to each of 6 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/solar-charge-controllers\/smartsolar-mppt-rs-450-tr\" target=\"_blank\">SmartSolar MPPT RS<\/a> 450\/200 for storage in 15 x Lithium eBick 280 PRO batteries. The second system has a similar arrangement but uses 4 SmartSolar MPPT RS 450\/200 to feed a 12 x Lithium eBick 280 PRO bank. The total battery storage for the system is 363kWh.<\/p>\n<p>SmartSolar MPPT RS solar charge controllers are suitable for systems with large series-connected PV arrays and 48 V DC battery banks. In this installation there are 720 Kyocera solar panels capable of providing 187kWp.<\/p>\n<p>Four Fronius Symo 15.0.3 three-phase AC inverters work seamlessly with the Victron Energy system &#8211; the Cerbo GX communication device of which is able to control the Fronius output power.
