{"id":20462,"date":"2020-07-30T09:39:22","date_gmt":"2020-07-30T07:39:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/?p=20462"},"modified":"2020-07-30T12:29:54","modified_gmt":"2020-07-30T10:29:54","slug":"new-furuno-navigation-victron-compatibility","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/2020\/07\/30\/new-furuno-navigation-victron-compatibility\/","title":{"rendered":"New &#8211; Furuno Navigation \/ Victron compatibility"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"level2\">\n<p>Skippers of Commercial and Leisure vessels equipped with Furuno navigation systems can now view their vessel&#8217;s energy system data alongside all other maritime information.<\/p>\n<p>Information regarding the vessel&#8217;s generation, storage and supply of power can be viewed at a glance on the vessel&#8217;s Multi-Function Display (MFD) &#8211; a presentation known as &#8216;Glass Bridge&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p>This compatibility applies to\u00a0the following Furuno models:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"level1\">\n<div class=\"li\">NavNet TZtouch3 TZT12F<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level1\">\n<div class=\"li\">NavNet TZtouch3 TZT16F<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level1\">\n<div class=\"li\">NavNet TZtouch3 TZT19F<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level1\">\n<div class=\"li\">Navnet TZtouch2 TZT2BB Black box<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<h4>What kind of information can be viewed?<\/h4>\n<p>Glass Bridge integration removes the untidy clutter of visual displays from different manufacturers all vying for the limited space on the ship&#8217;s Bridge or navigation area.<\/p>\n<p>Viewable data includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Battery State of Charge (Bat 1, Bat 2); Time to Go; AC loads \/ DC loads;<\/li>\n<li>Generator output; shore power<\/li>\n<li>Shore power disconnect<\/li>\n<li class=\"level1\">\n<div class=\"li\">Control shore power input current limit.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"level1\">\n<div class=\"li\">Inverter\/Charger control: On, Off, Charger-only.<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>MPPT Solar Charger power harvest<\/li>\n<li>Opening the Victron Remote Console allows even deeper access and control<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 id=\"wiring\" class=\"sectionedit4\">Connectivity<\/h4>\n<div class=\"level2\">\n<p>The Victron installation must include a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/live\/venus-os:start\" target=\"_blank\">GX device<\/a>. The Furuno MFD can be connected directly to the GX device using an Ethernet cable. Data from all units within the\u00a0Victron power installation &#8211; Inverter\/Chargers; Batteries; Battery monitors; DC\/DC converters &#8211; is gathered and controlled by the GX device and made available on the MFD.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<h4>NMEA 2000 Communication<\/h4>\n<p>Integration is also possible using the NMEA 2000-out port on your GX device using a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/cables\/ve-can-to-nmea2000-micro-c-male\"class=\"urlextern\" title=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/cables\/ve-can-to-nmea2000-micro-c-male\"  target=\"_blank\">VE.Can to NMEA2000 micro-C male cable<\/a>. Integration by this method requires more work than will be experienced using the software application, but results in a more customisable display. All Victron MPPT solar chargers.
