{"id":20291,"date":"2020-06-09T09:10:38","date_gmt":"2020-06-09T07:10:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/?p=20291"},"modified":"2022-09-26T14:03:03","modified_gmt":"2022-09-26T12:03:03","slug":"byd-battery-box-premium-lvl-installation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/2020\/06\/09\/byd-battery-box-premium-lvl-installation\/","title":{"rendered":"BYD Battery Box Premium LVL installation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The first photovoltaic installation in Spain with the new generation of BYD batteries is up and running.<\/p>\n<p>The installer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.efigalia.es\" target=\"_blank\">Efigalia<\/a>, in collaboration with <a href=\"https:\/\/es.krannich-solar.com\" target=\"_blank\">Krannich Solar<\/a>, carried out the installation of the <a href=\"https:\/\/bydbatterybox.com\" target=\"_blank\">BYD Battery-Box Premium LVL<\/a> batteries.<\/p>\n<p>Early in 2020, the battery manufacturer BYD launched its new Battery Box Premium models, whose strength lies in high energy density, allowing a reduction in volume of more than 50% compared to its earlier models. Not only that but the batteries are scalable &#8211; 64 units can be connected in parallel, making a storage capacity of 983kWh attainable.<\/p>\n<p>Efigalia&#8217;s installation is a remote off grid pig farm in the province of Lugo, using two Battery-Box Premium LVL 15.4 batteries to store a total of 30.72kWh of capacity.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/05\/Efigalia-BYD-1_133721137.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-20293 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/05\/Efigalia-BYD-1_133721137-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/05\/Efigalia-BYD-1_133721137-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/05\/Efigalia-BYD-1_133721137-1500x2000.jpg 1500w, https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/05\/Efigalia-BYD-1_133721137-750x1000.jpg 750w, https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/05\/Efigalia-BYD-1_133721137-1536x2048.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/05\/Efigalia-BYD-1_133721137-1152x1536.jpg 1152w, https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/05\/Efigalia-BYD-1_133721137-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2020\/05\/Efigalia-BYD-1_133721137.jpg 1800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Krannich Solar supplied the materials for this installation including fifty STP330-24 \/ Vfw photovoltaic panels from Suntech; together Fronius and Victron inverters. Victron inverters\u00a0are fully\u00a0compatible with these batteries &#8211; and indeed many more battery technologies.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>50 x Solar Panels with 16.5kWp output<\/li>\n<li>1 x Fronius Symo 15.0 Inverter<\/li>\n<li>3 x <a href=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/inverters-chargers\/quattro\" target=\"_blank\">Quattro 48\/8000\u00a0<\/a>Inverter\/Charger<\/li>\n<li>2 x BYD LVL 15.4 lithium batteries<\/li>\n<li>1 x Victron <a href=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/panel-systems-remote-monitoring\/color-control\" target=\"_blank\">Color Control GX<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This system employs a Color Control GX at the heart of the installation and harmonises all devices &#8211; which you notice are from a variety of manufacturers. The total available capacity in Ah is also displayed. Using Victron&#8217;s Remote Management platform <a href=\"https:\/\/vrm.victronenergy.com\/landingpage\" target=\"_blank\">VRM<\/a>, an authorised technician can examine and control the system remotely.<\/p>\n<p>During the day power to the farm is primarily supplied by the Fronius Symo Inverter. \u00a0Excess energy from the Fronius unit is directed to the Victron Quattro inverter\/chargers and used to charge the batteries.
