She finished in a time of 1.14.89.<\/p>\n<p>Securing Bronze, she crossed the line only half a second later than American <em>Brittany Bowe<\/em> who set a new track record to take Gold. Ahead of De Neeling &#8211; by the narrowest of margins &#8211; came Japanese skater <em>Miho Takagi<\/em> to take Silver.<\/p>\n<p>De Neeling&#8217;s performance gives the Dutch skaters something to smile about at a competition which did not bag the number of medals they have become used to bringing home. Only nine women and eleven men represented the Netherlands and their skating was not quite at the level we have become used to seeing. Equally thrilling performances won <em>Kai Verbij<\/em> (25) and <em>Hein Otterspeer<\/em> (31) a Silver and a Bronze medal, respectively in the Men&#8217;s 1,000m.<\/p>\n<p>All in all the number of medals was not too bad for the small and relatively inexperienced Dutch selection.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_18920\" style=\"width: 830px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-18920\" class=\"wp-image-18920 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/12\/media_453_507414_w820_fit_120424408.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"820\" height=\"545\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/12\/media_453_507414_w820_fit_120424408.jpg 820w, https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/12\/media_453_507414_w820_fit_120424408-750x498.jpg 750w, https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/12\/media_453_507414_w820_fit_120424408-768x510.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/12\/media_453_507414_w820_fit_120424408-300x199.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 820px) 100vw, 820px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-18920\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><\/div><\/a> Junior: Femke Kok<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Back home Junior <em>Femke Kok<\/em> continues to thrill: She was by far the strongest in the Juniors &#8216;A&#8217; team, and although hampered by the wind at the &#8216;Alkmaar Four Distances&#8217; held at the De Meent ice rink she won the 500 meter event smashing her own record &#8211; set a day earlier &#8211; to complete the race in 38.58.
