The highlights:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>NMEA 2000-out function<\/li>\n<li>Solar Irradiation metering<\/li>\n<li>Multis and Quattro related improvements such as Inverter only mode, Alarm notification upon grid failure and setting the Input current limit for systems with a VE.Bus BMS.<\/li>\n<li>A new supported battery: Discover AES from Canada<\/li>\n<li>Simplified installation of BYD by automatically forcing the DVCC on and Shared Voltage Sense off. Other batteries to follow.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Let me take you through some of the details.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h3>New: NMEA 2000-out function<\/h3>\n<p>Long awaited, and already announced long ago (my apologies that this took forever!), the GX devices can now transmit battery monitor as well as inverter\/charger data out on VE.Can and NMEA 2000 networks. Also, our Multis and Quattros can be controlled via NMEA 2000. Use <a href=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.nl\/cables\/ve-can-to-nmea2000-micro-c-male\" target=\"_blank\">our VE.Can to NMEA 2000 cable<\/a> to connect a GX device to an NMEA 2000 network.<\/p>\n<p>To enable this feature, navigate to Settings -&gt; Services -&gt; CAN-bus, and there enable the &#8220;Send data to VE.Can&#8221; feature:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/12\/senddatatovecan_119909770.png\" target=\"_blank\"><div class=\"full-size-image container\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-18791 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/12\/senddatatovecan_119909770.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"490\" height=\"281\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/12\/senddatatovecan_119909770.png 490w, https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/12\/senddatatovecan_119909770-300x172.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 490px) 100vw, 490px\" \/><\/div><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Note that this is now the recommended way to integrate a Victron system into an NMEA 2000 network. The old <a href=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/accessories\/ve-bus-to-nmea2000-interface\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">VE.Bus to NMEA 2000 interface<\/a>, as well as the VE.Direct to NMEA 2000 interface are now deprecated.<\/p>\n<p>In the coming days we&#8217;ll be updating the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/live\/ve.can:nmea-2000:start\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Marine NMEA 2000 and MFD integration documentation<\/a>; taking out the now deprecated interfaces as well as adding the earlier released <a href=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/2019\/05\/28\/venus-os-v2-30\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MFD App Integration<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>New: Solar irradiance metering<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/12\/imt-sensor_119910027.png\" target=\"_blank\"><div class=\"full-size-image container\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-18792\" src=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/12\/imt-sensor_119910027.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"573\" height=\"247\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/12\/imt-sensor_119910027.png 573w, https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/10\/2019\/12\/imt-sensor_119910027-300x129.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 573px) 100vw, 573px\" \/><\/div><\/a>After searching and reviewing the options on how to add Solar Irradiance metering to our offering, we chose the IMT meters from Mencke and Tegtmeyer GmbH in Germany. The picture above shows their meter, mounted next to a Solar panel. The type of meters supported is their Si-RS485TC series. Besides solar irradiance, they also offer (optional) wind speed and ambient temperature sensors.<\/p>\n<p>Note that we&#8217;ll not be stocking these meters ourselves, consult the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.imt-solar.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">imt website<\/a> for purchasing.<\/p>\n<p>The meter is connected using our USB to RS485 interface cables. For more details, see the Integration manual, available on that page.<\/p>\n<h3>DVCC menu cleaned up and expanded<\/h3>\n<p>All DVCC settings are now brought together in their own menu, rather than added at the bottom of the Settings -&gt; System setup menu. Thus making them easier to find and configure.
