{"id":17744,"date":"2019-09-10T08:55:40","date_gmt":"2019-09-10T06:55:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/?p=17744"},"modified":"2019-09-10T08:55:40","modified_gmt":"2019-09-10T06:55:40","slug":"shackleton-reaches-arctic-circle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/2019\/09\/10\/shackleton-reaches-arctic-circle\/","title":{"rendered":"Shackleton reaches Arctic Circle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On August 28th just over three months and 4,000km since their departure, Shackleton and her crew aboard the converted lifeboat St\u00f8dig have now crossed the line of latitude that marks the Arctic Circle.<\/p>\n<p>Their voyage so far has taken them via 7 countries, since leaving Newhaven in the UK &#8211; which we reported on in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/2019\/06\/04\/shackleton-crew-8-countries-3500km-5-months\/\" target=\"_blank\">previous blog<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Having overcome engine troubles in the Baltic, St\u00f8dig and crew made steady progress north. Theirs is an adventure of a lifetime.
