Even the sometimes wet weather wasn&#8217;t enough to damp the spirit and enthusiasm of all competitors.<!--more--><a your craft &#8230;though students were on-hand to help friends and competitors alike fend-off the dangers.<\/p>\n<p><a \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8230;and they were:<\/p>\n<p>In first place this year&#8217;s clear winner and Nederlands Kampioen (Champion) is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.piterjelles.nl\/leeuwarderlyceum\/\" target=\"_blank\">Leeuwarder Lyceum<\/a> with a score of 64<\/p>\n<p>second, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.csgbogerman.nl\/locaties\/sneek\" target=\"_blank\">Bogerman Sneek<\/a> who scored 75<\/p>\n<p>and in third place, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.davinci.nl\" target=\"_blank\">Da Vinci College<\/a> on 126.<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0fantastic image at the head of this blog was taken by Leo Bakker\u00a0during the second series of Solar-Powered boat races and whilst it isn&#8217;t one of the Young Solar Challenge boats it represents the state of the art of Solar-Powered Boat-Racing to which all entrants aspire! The boat pictured is in the same class as &#8216;Furia&#8217; &#8211; the World Champion\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.victronenergy.com\/blog\/2017\/05\/30\/clafis-victron-energy-solar-boat-team-drama-in-the-sun\/\" target=\"_blank\">CLAFIS Victron Energy<\/a> team&#8217;s solar boat. Sincere thanks to Leo for allowing us to use the image &#8230;judging by the enthusiasm which Young Solar Challengers have for the race, this is the 50kph class of boat they&#8217;ll be building next.
